Volunteering
RWE Companius
This is a program that promotes volunteer activities of our employees. Through RWE Companius we financially support projects of those entities in which our employees are personally involved. These may include projects in field of education, culture, sport, social, ecology or energy.
VSE CITY RUN
Approximately 2,800 participants in the third year of the charity sport event VSE CITY RUN helped in May and June of 2010 three organizations. Our company and
the VSE Group Endowment Fund managed by the Carpathian Foundation gave, of course, a helping hand. Together we gave support to the Elementary school in Gemerská
street in Košice, devoted to the integration of visually impaired children, Special school in the Partizánska street in Poprad and to the summer camps of the Úsmev
ako dar organization in Spišská Nová Ves. For these three organizations, we have obtained several thousand euros. The VSE empolyees have beautified their interior
and the surroundings of the Elementary school in Gemerská street in Košice by their voluntary work. More on www.cityrun.sk.
The next year of this unique event will take place in 2011.
Regular Blood Donation
Blood donation has become a favourite volunteering activity of employees of our company. Since 2007 we organize common blood donation in cooperation with the Slovak Red Cross and the National Transfusion Service several times a year. A selected area in the building in Mlynská 31 in Košice is transformed into a temporary transfusion station for several hours so that we can donate the precious liquid and help those who need it the most.
So that the Visually Impaired Children Can “Read”
In September 2008 nine of our employees lent their voices to the reading and recording of the book of Alena Černochová Krajina návratov (The Land of Returns). Thus they enriched the audio fund of the Slovak Library for the Visually Impaired of M. Hrebenda in Levoča within the framework of volunteer programs. In 2009 ten volunteers from VSE read also advisory leaflets of our company.
