Grant schemes

Our company supports two grant programs – Symbiosis and Freetime Zones – administered by the Carpathian Foundation – through the VSE Endowment Fund.

Grant program Symbiosis

is aimed at mitigating the impact of human activities on bird habitats and their food-chain. We support organization with experience in research and conservation of protected bird species in eastern Slovakia. It is a unique initiative, whereas in Slovakia, no other grant programs in this area exists.

  • In 2011, the VSE Endowment Fund divided more than 20,000 EUR between two selected projects.
  • In 2010 we supported three projects with 47,511.76 EUR.

Grant program Freetime Zones

supports the construction and reconstruction of freetime zones in the Košice and Prešov Municipal Region. A ten-member evaluation committee composed of representatives of the VSE, designers, experts on community projects and representatives of nonprofit organizations, schools and youth freetime centers is annually responsible for selecting projects in which we will participate.

  • In 2011 the VSE Endowment Fund supported the construction of 10 leisure areas.
  • In 2010 we supported about 11 projects in total amount of 50,000 EUR.
  • In 2009 we supported 14 projects with 56,429.67 EUR.

Supported projects

Disenchanting of castles in eastern Slovakia

Among the successful projects of our company is also the Disenchatment of castles in eastern Slovakia. With the suport of the VSE Endowment Fund scouts gave former glory to five medieval castles. They worked as volunteers on the castles during September and October weekends in 2007.
