How the e-car (electric car) works
Words like e-car or hybrid vehicle are not so unknown for us. What is hidden behind these technologies?
Hybrid technologies
In the car with the parallel hybrid drive an electric engine is used as supporting engine. During the start or acceleration it can provide additional output, reduce the load on combustion engine and that way lower the fuel consumption. Electric drive is limited to short distances up to 2 km.
With series hybrid vehicle it is possible to drive longer distances with electric drive. The combustion engine is designed as so called temporary aggregate so that battery can be recharged during the long distances.
Vehicles with series hybrid drive are designed and so called plug-in hybrids. They have batteries with higher capacity and can be charged externally, e.g. on VSE charging station. In the mode of electric drive their driving distance is 20 – 60 km.
E-car
E-cars do not have any combustion engine in comparison to series hybrid vehicles. They do not produce any CO2 emissions. Other advantages of e-cars are higher efficiency, simple drive mechanism and minimum noise. The driving distance depends on capacity of the battery.
