VSE presents project E-mobility to Slovakia

We in VSE support ecological way of transport and we want to create conditions for our customers to use cars with electric drive in the future. The advantage of e-cars is zero production of carbon dioxide (CO₂), significantly lower operational costs in comparison to traditional cars and less noise.

That is why we have decided to start the project E-mobility in Slovakia and activities of our company in this area. This project is supported by the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic and the City of Košice.

The project e-mobility is a part of a new VSE Programme named Green Future that covers all activities of the company focused on sustainability.

We have built up the first charging stations

Basic condition for e-cars is to break the vicious circle „without cars there is no sense in building infrastructure“ and „with no infrastructure it is impossible to use cars“. That is why VSE as first company in Slovakia have built up the first public charging station for e-car in Košice. It is situated in Mlynská Street next to out seat. We also started operation of a charging station in Bratislava – it is the first charging station for e-cars in the Slovak capital that is designated to public (photogallery). .

Till the end of 2011 the use of the stations is free of charge

We also offer to our customers an installation of private charging stations that we can provide them in co-operation with out parent company RWE.

What are our next steps?

We plan to build a network of charging stations at public places so that it is possible to travel by e-car from Košice to Bratislava.
We will prepare individual rate for charging of e-cars for customers.
In co-operation with the Ministry of Economy we will elaborate a report on possibilities for e-mobility support from the state.

For successful implementation of e-cars in Slovakia it is necessary to build up a suitable infrastructure that will suit customers regarding the availability as well as unification of conditions for charging stations from various providers. It is a very demanding process that requires active co-operation of all participants. But we in VSE believe in future of e-cars and we will support their usage in Slovakia.

We are looking for partners for development of charging station infrastructure

We are looking for partners and interested persons for building up of charging station infrastructure in Slovakia. It concerns especially self-governments, shopping centres, and companies´ parking lots.
